Summer Camp

As summer quickly approaches, it’s time to start thinking about your child’s summertime activities.

In 2010, the Provincial Autism Centre is proud to introduce a new summer day camp program for children with ASD ages 6-14. 

Building on the success of the camp run by the Autism Society Nova Scotia for the last 8 years, the Provincial Autism Centre's summer camp provides a positive recreational summer experience for children with ASD . 

The camp runs in 2 week time slots. Returning campers may sign up for a maximum of two 2 week time slots, and first time campers may sign up for a maximum of one 2 week time slot.

Campers must fulfill the following criteria in order to apply for Summer Camp 2010:

• swimming every afternoon
  
• bowling
  
• field trips
  
• play activities
  
• crafts
  
• baking
  
• games
  
• playground fun
  
• table time
  
• ... and more!
  

Each child has a one-to-one worker who is trained to work with children with ASD - that's the difference that makes this camp such a positive and safe experience for every child who attends.

Camp runs Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Each camper brings his/her own lunch and snack. 

During past summers, the ASNS camp has proved to be a rewarding and fun-filled summer for the children as well as  the counselors. The Provincial Autism Centre is proud to help this tradition continue.

Apply early as space is limited.  Spaces will be given on a first come, first served basis.  Everyone must fill out an application. Deadline to apply is May 21, 2010.

Camp fees are $400.00 per week. Please note that all camp fees MUST be paid in full one week prior to your child attending camp.
