How do I become a Supporter of the Provincial Autism Centre?
The Provincial Autism Centre is a nonprofit society with charitable status. We are currently funded through private donations and the yearly membership fees we collect. We endeavor to maintain a sustainable service to the Nova Scotian autism community by seeking sponsorships, grants and through fundraising activities.
Below are a few ways you can show your support for your Provincial Autism Centre.
Become a Member
When you become a member of the Provincial Autism Centre for $10 per year, not only are you gaining access to the best resources of information on autism, you are also committing your support to the Centre's ongoing growth.
Donate to the Provincial Autism Centre
Gifts of Cash Make a gift in your own name or in the name of someone you wish to honor. Donations are gratefully accepted and you will be issued a charitable tax receipt. Your donations go towards new acquisitions for our library and programming. Please make your cheque to Provincial Autism Centre.
In Kind Contributions
The Centre welcomes in-kind donations in the form of books, video or other informational materials that are in keeping with our collection philosophy and membership needs. We also welcome contributions that help us with outreach, such as printing costs, or postage that enables the Provincial Autism Centre to deliver its materials to the individuals and families who need them in communities across Nova Scotia.
Become a Corporate Partner
Corporate partnership is a growing interest in businesses today. It is a great way to raise the profile of your company by showing the community in which you do business your sense of corporate responsibility. We will ensure that your corporate sponsorship/donation receives the recognition it deserves! We encourage you to speak with your employer about the opportunities to support the work of the Centre. For a list of sponsors, please see our acknowledgements page.
Workplace Giving
Members and friends of the Provincial Autism Centre often ask how they can participate in their workplace charity giving programs, while also helping Provincial Autism Centre meet its annual program/research goals. Ask your employer if your company participates in such a program.
Stocks and Securities
Gifting of stocks or securities directly to the Provincial Autism Centre (instead of liquidating them first) will save you 50% on the applicable capital gains, and get an interesting option on your capital gains.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts allow you to combine your charitable giving goals with your estate and financial planning needs.
