Autism Centre Society of the South Shore

Staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers (including persons who have autism) under the management of the South Shore Regional School Board Autism Consultant, the Autism Centre of the South Shore is an autism friendly centre of excellence where persons with autism and their families will feel comfortable and safe.

Bedford-Sackville Support Group
Meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Sackville Community center  from 1900 till 2100.  Discuss the problems of day to day living with ASD children.  This group is there to support and help each other with first hand experiences with Autism and the health services.

Supporting Children with Autism In Child Care Settings: Distance Education Strategies (SCACCS) (Centre of Excellence for Children with Special Needs)
This is a research project co-directed by Dr. Isabel Smith, IWK Health Centre/Dalhousie University and Dr. Mary Lyon, Mount Saint Vincent University and funded by Human Resources Development Canada, was undertaken to provide basic information about autistic spectrum disorders and how to accommodate children with ASD in child care settings.
